On April 1, 2009, Kennedy’s body lost the battle against pneumonia. Kennedy was not able to receive the nutrition and care she needed to thrive. Today, vulnerable families in Ethiopia are still fighting that same battle, struggling to provide a simple meal, a warm place to sleep, education, and health care for their children.
April is Kennedy’s Month. We are remembering Kennedy, honoring the impact her life has had, and celebrating the transformation that is to come. This month we are raising $30,000 to turn hunger into health, fear into stability, and despair into hope. Together, we can write the next redemption story.

When Efe first came to us, she couldn’t write her name, didn’t have a bank account, and couldn’t provide for her children. Today, she can confidently sign her name, has her own bank account, and is running a thriving business. Efe is grateful for how BoK has changed her life. Her journey is a beautiful reminder of what’s possible when opportunity, determination, and hope come together.
